today, thursday, i love my home state of texas. it's been almost 10 years since i left (shocking!) and there isn't a day i don't miss it: the place, the people, my friends, my family and almost everything about the lone star state. it's such a wonderful and different place full of all kinds of characters and legends.
i got this star while living in massachusetts (of all places) and it now hangs proudly on our garage in new jersey. every time i look at it i think of the lone star state and of all the people i love who still call texas home.
many thanks to ryan for allowing the star to hang on our garage even though he is a native new jersey-ian. he's just lucky i am not flying the texas flag...happy love thursday!

I know how you feel about missing "home"-we plan on moving back to Boston from FL in the fall (barring my husband getting antsy about it). There's no place like home.

you should be proud of where you come from and to be a texan. we loved everyone we met in the lone star state while there for your big day, they were loving,generous and very fun... it will always be your HOME. also the pics of wil are so great, he is such a ham.

There is a woman in our neighborhood that flies the Texas flag from Spring to Fall...she's lived and raised her kids here for many years - they are elderly now. But every Spring we look for the flag, as it has become a rite of Spring for our neighborhood. I think it's fantastic and it makes me smile, reminding me of my friend from Texas and knowing I need to get there one of these days!
Texas loves you right back, baby...and not just on Thursdays.
