it is with a heavy heart that i report that the two squirrels featured in yesterday's post were found dead next to our mailbox last night. we have no idea what happened to them and can only speculate that they were either malnourished or accidentally ate something poisonous.
it made me very sad to find them and i am lucky to have a husband that not only understands my love for all animals but shares it as well.
ryan buried the siblings this morning and i tried to give them a proper eulogy. farewell little squirrels. we enjoyed our day with you!

i was so happy to comment on the previous post when i read it last night, so i log on to do that this morning and am a bit saddened. their interaction was so cute, and that you were able to capture it - impressive!!! bummer! r.i.p.
So sorry hear of your loss. While I know they are not squirrels and cannot compare in any way, as a gesture of my friendship and a sign of my compassion, I will let you have all three of my cats.
poor lucy..... her new found friends are gone. please know that you & lucy are in our prayers as the 2 of you goe through this trying time. r.i.p.
