higgins family ready for THE BOSS

23 January 2009

back in business

it's been 2 months and 3 days since my last confession...uh, post. man oh man so much has happened! we celebrated thanksgiving and christmas, we said good-bye to 2008 and welcomed in 2009, wil turned the big O-N-E and had a fantastic party, we took another trip to texas and came home with one hell of a souviner...RSV!...i checked a few things off my list and just this week, i rejoiced as a new administration took charge of our great country! the times they are a changin'....

the thought of trying to write posts on all the stuff that's happened over the past few months is completely overwhelming. i'd be lying if i said i'd do it so i'll fess up now and say it's not gonna happen. i will, however, try to sum up the last 2 months and 3 days with this:

i am so grateful for the life i have been blessed with. i feel happier than ever and more sure of myself at 34.5 than i ever thought possible. for one, we have been blessed with the most beautiful, smart, funny and stubborn little life on the planet. wil brings us new joys (and new frustrations) every single day and i cannot imagine how we ever lived life without him. (well, more books were read and more movies were watched but these are minor things...) we have the best friends in the whole world. throughout the last months of 2008 and the first weeks of 2009 we were fortunate enough to share many laughs, stories, drinks, eats, tears, hugs, smiles, joy and love with so many friends, both near and far. the older i get the more i realize that distance is only a problem if there's distance in your heart...thank God we don't have that problem. we also spent the last two months sharing time with members of both familes. it started at thanksgiving and just kept going. what an outpouring of love and support we get from them all and we consider ourselves, again, blessed.

there is nothing more beautiful than sharing love and being loved. that is what the last two months have been full of, the sharing and receiving of love, joy, and peace. what a wonderful world!

LOVE the new header. It's great that you're back. You were missed. The 30s are a good time to be a woman. It brings many challenges too...but I do think we come into our own more confidently in the 30s.

welcome back. love the set up.

love the post, i couldn't agree with you more. its amazing with age comes wisdom, i never wanted to believe all the people older then me that would say that and also the line "life goes faster the older you get" my how true that is, it does make you stop and appreciate everything and everyone in your life.

we too are blessed to have you guys in our lives as well. it is a wonderful world we live in.

xoxo....

welcome back, b. good to see you back on the blog and I love the changes you have made to it. GREAT pics for the header.

i, also, couldn't agree with you more and with what's been said already on the comments here.

I am thankful & grateful for the friendhip you and your family extend to me and am really glad to have you in my life. Love, family & friendship is what it all comes down to, really - the rest is just a little bit of noise & stuff to work through and keep us busy & entertained.

Glad you've been having so much fun and so glad you're at this place!

Big hugs :)

This new layout is awesome!

I don't blame you for not wanting to attempt recounting all the activities of the past 2+ months. It would just be too much. So happy, though, that your holidays and visit home to TX will be fondly remembered.

Much love from the Giorgios! It's life a blast?

Love the layout. How did you carve out enough time to do this???? I'm impressed.

Love your grateful heart. It's easy to focus on what we don't have and harder to remember our blessings. I am so happy to see you happy and loved our time together.

and thanks to good ole' stella for stickin' it to wil...like rita said...she gave him a love bug! :-) if both of us come home sick in PA, i will be seriously concerned. maybe it's a sign that we are just supposed to live together and not wait until the husbands die....you know what i'm sayin'...
